With the development of oil field, nitrogen has been widely used in the production, completion and workover of oil and gas wells, and even the inert properties of high pressure nitrogen are used for gas collection and pipeline system purging, so as to prevent the combustion of flammable gas and the corrosion of oil field underground pipeline. So, how does nitrogen generator improve oil recovery?
First, under certain conditions, nitrogen enters into the oil wet fracture which cannot be entered by injected water due to the gravity differentiation of oil field and displaces the remaining oil.
The other is to displace the residual oil trapped by gravity in the fractures and caves by gravity separation.
The third is to dissolve the injected nitrogen in the crude oil, make the volume of crude oil expand, and reduce the formation residual oil saturation under the condition of surface separation by its oil displacement.
Fourth, change the direction of fluid flow to displace the residual oil in the fracture channel.
